FTL Log Entry 7

Captain's Log, Day 7:

We arrived at the store and I noticed that the room directly behind me was engulfed in flames.  I opened the doors to the airlock in order to vent the atmosphere from the ship in order to prevent further spread of fire.  Unfortunately, I didn't do this fast enough, so the fire spread to the cockpit.  So, that was fun.  Once the fires were out, Pipaluk set to work repairing the sensors while Aisha started repairs on the shield generator.  In the meantime, I went to treat my burns in the medbay.

Once the system repairs were made and I was fixed up, we returned to our posts and I shut down the medbay to divert power back to the shields.  We then hailed the store to see their wares.  It turned out that this was less a store and more a single engineer attempting to make some money to get by on by selling his wares.  He had a couple drones, but nothing we were interested in.  He did have a cloaking system, but we were a bit short on funds.  We spent 24 scrap pieces repairing damage to the hull, and spent 9 more in trade for 3 extra fuel cells.  We bought 2 more missiles for 12 scrap, and spent the rest of our scrap pieces on upgrades to the ship - 20 went to blast doors for the ship and 40 went to upgrading our reactor so we could power all the ship's systems at once.  After all was said and done, we only had 6 scrap pieces left over.

We thanked and waived farewell to the merchant as we headed off to continue our mission.  We picked up a distress beacon and knew we had to respond.  Hopefully now we're at least SLIGHTLY better prepared for the journey to come.  Only time will tell.
