FTL Log Entry 47
Captain's Log, Day 47:
The Rebel sector. Years ago, this area was bustling with activity. Now, though, more than half of the jump beacons have been destroyed and most of the settlements have been abandoned due to the increased Rebel presence.
Our first jump brought us into an asteroid field, up against an automated scout. It didn't have shields, and the first two asteroids hit the scouts engines and weapon systems. It appeared luck would be with us for this fight. Bjorn landed three laser blasts on their weapons system, completely disabling it. Another blast destroyed the ship. We salvaged one missile, one drone, and 46 scrap before jumping away hastily to avoid getting smashed by asteroids.
The jump led us to a Rebel fighter. We were hailed with the message, "When the rebellion is complete, you'll see the safer world we provide. Well, you won't, but you get the point." as they armed their weapons. Typical Rebel propaganda. We responded in kind, yet they brought boarders to the ship. Luckily, Stick and Mikhail managed to ward them off, but we didn't have much time to revel in that. Our weapons room took a missile, but we evaded the second volley with our cloaking device. Our return volley shook them so much that they offered to surrender, but I don't trust the Rebels. We destroyed their ship and made off with a fuel cell, a drone, and 51 scrap. We spent 150 scrap upgrading our shield system again, and set off for a nearby nebula, hoping to avoid the Rebel fleet.
