FTL Log Entry 25
Captain's Log, Day 25:
We arrived right in the middle of a battlefield, as expected. Initial scans of the nearest ship indicated that the enemy only had 3 crew. They also had more shields than we did, so the first focus was a missile on their shield generator and the burst laser at their medbay. The focus on the medbay was to prevent their crew from healing when I teleported Bjorn and Fleischy over.
We fired our missiles simultaneously. Ours took down one layer of their shields while theirs started a fire just outside the medbay. I vented the atmosphere in order to prevent the spread of the fire, glad that it was an empty room. I also refocused the first laser burst at their weapons to prevent further damage. Their lasers penetrated our shields, however, and took out our engines.
Aisha set to work straight away to on repairs, and I sent the boarding party to help. They got the engines functional just as the Rebel ship fired off what would be its last missile. Their second missile took out our teleporter while ours took out their weapons. Bjorn and Fleischy set to work repairing the teleporter while we aimed to take out their medbay.
They got their shields up and running again, and we set another missile on their weapons systems, just to be safe. Our burst laser then punched through and took out their medbay. With their ship in that state, we set our weapons to just charge, and I sent over the boarding party.
They arrived in the medbay, and made short work of the crewman attempting to repair it. The other crewmen from the Rebel ship attempted to ward off my boarders, but they fell one at a time until none were left. There wasn't time to waste, however, as we needed to move before the enemy cruisers got in firing range. Bjorn and Fleischy returned, having recovered a solitary fuel cell, and headed straight to the infirmary to recover while we jumped to the next sector. Of course, it appeared to be Rock controlled.
From what I know about the Rockmen, they are a proud and powerful race. While it isn't unheard of to travel Rock space unharmed, I wouldn't count on it. Especially with the Rebels this close behind. I guess we can only hope to survive.
